Marcus Trevino, 24 was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years in prison for driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter. The former Marine was convicted last month of the vehicular manslaughter and DUI charges but he still faces a retrial on a second-degree murder charge.

Perla Gonzalez, 28, of Bakersfield, was killed in June 2, 2010 when Trevino allegedly ran a stop sign at Mt. Vernon Avenue and Kentucky Street in Bakersfield. A 1-year-old child and the 19-year-old woman who was driving the other vehicle were also injured in the crash. Trevino has been arrested forDUI three times in less than two years, including the June 2 accident, according to Marine officials. Trevino's retrial for second-degree murder is set to to begin on November 28.
